The Story Behind Qudos
An independent editorial project born from a love of paper quality, writing ritual, and organised creative spaces.
How Qudos Began
Qudos started in a small studio in Surry Hills, Sydney, with nothing more than a hardcover notebook and a preference for fine-tipped gel pens. What began as personal observations about paper texture and binding durability gradually became a structured collection of guides, comparisons, and workspace layouts.
Today, Qudos remains a solo editorial project. Every article is researched, drafted, and revised with the same care one might take when choosing a notebook for a year-long journal. We do not accept sponsorships from stationery brands, and we do not publish paid product placements.
Our Editorial Mission
We believe that stationery is more than utility. The right tools can encourage clearer thinking, better planning, and a more enjoyable relationship with handwritten work. Our mission is to provide independent, well-researched educational content that helps readers understand materials, mechanisms, and methods — without pushing them toward any particular purchase.
Qudos focuses on five core areas: notebook construction and paper science, writing instrument mechanics, desk organisation principles, creative planning methods, and the cultural history of office supplies.
Content Principles & Transparency
No Commercial Affiliation
Qudos is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any stationery manufacturer, retailer, or commercial supplier. We do not accept free products for review under conditions that influence editorial outcomes.
Accuracy & Revision
Specifications change. We periodically revisit published guides to correct outdated information, update comparisons, and refine workspace recommendations based on reader feedback.
Educational Purpose
All content is published for informational and educational purposes. Qudos does not provide financial, legal, medical, or commercial advice. We encourage readers to verify technical details independently.
Qudos operates as an independent publishing project. Revenue, if any, is generated through contextual advertising that does not influence editorial decisions. We do not write sponsored articles. We do not participate in affiliate programmes. Our loyalty is to the accuracy of the information we publish and to the readers who trust it.
